StumpTown-New-Athens-OhioiThe 47th Annual “Back Home Show” Returns to the New Athens Ohio Area.
Located off State Route 519, one mile west of New Athens,  the Stumptown Steam Threshers event has brought awe and wonder to the faces of many, including myself as a youth, while watching these steam powered monsters move about.

The atmosphere is relaxed, and the noises and smells will surely bring back memories for many.

The event will take place on September 12th, and 13th. Two days of community enjoyment.

You can expect antique steam engines, gas engines and tractors, and steam models in live working action. Almost everyone takes their gasoline powered machines for granted these days, but to imagine the technology and industrial might that was needed to produce these machines, is absolutely amazing!

You will be able to see with your own eyes, how our folks used what was available to them, to thresh grain, bailing their straw, sawing lumber and using these machines to even create shingles for their homes!  These machines weren’t just used for lumbering activity, but also to turn raw food materials, into finished goods that were fit for consumption.

There will be a Flea Market on site, as well as a Ladies Auxiliary Raffle with T-Shirts available.

In regards to food that will leave a lasting impression, there will be available,  meals to fit your pallet, lunch snacks, and open Kettle Cooked Beans.
