Wow! What a busy month. We have sent out our Thanksgiving/Halloween packages and received notices that several service people have received them. Several comments on the Puppy Chow. Thanks to Sue, she makes that every time we send boxes. Thanks to all who helped with packing and baking.

We have been busy giving talks to the Scio American Legion Dinner last Saturday and to the Democratic Womens of Freeport on Monday night. It is very exciting to give these talks. If you want us to talk to your organization or group please feel free to call us at 740-942-3642.

The next thing is I want to apologize to Dave Rose for printing his name as Dave Jones in my last posting. Dave it won’t happen again. I have since corrected the posting.

Tonight there will be a service for Veterans and First Responders at the First Church of Christ on North Main across from the Cadiz Fire House. It starts at 7PM. As a Veteran and Fire Fighter I will be there and hope the community and county will come too.

As a veteran I receive and hear many things but today I received this from my son Devin and wow, it says it all.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.” Rev. Denis Edward O’Brien

The next time you see a veteran or someone in uniform, walk up and thank them for there service. It means a lot.

It is coming to that time of year for the Support Groups Christmas packing. We will be packing the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving at the Cadiz Fire house. If you would like to help we will be starting at 6PM. If you would like to donate please Sue or I at 740-942-3642. We will be in need of cookies. They really like home made cookies. Please, if you make them do not make anything cake. It will mold. No bake is a big favorite. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped in some way to the group over this last year. It is very much appreciated.

The last thing I would like to say: Thank you Larry for the wonderful web site and giving us the opportunity to let the public know what is going on in the county.

Happy Veterans Day and please say a prayer for all the men and women overseas and for those who parishes at Fort Hood.
