AS you have been able to tell, this site is a collection of various writers, of various stature, in various areas. But the one thing they all have in common, is that they are all residents of Harrison County Ohio. This site was developed out of an apparent need for quick, reliable and first hand information.

Did you just go to your child’s pee-wee baseball game? Did you take pictures? When you tuck them in that night, log on to ThisIsMyCounty.com, and upload your pics, and a story about the game. Moments afterwards, anyone can view the site, and find out what happened, if it is something that interests them.

Are you a mom taking your children to a certain park, and were just impressed by how well it was maintained, or what great condition the equipment and grounds were? Take pictures, upload them here, and tell everyone why they should check that park out, or even avoid it and why.

Are you a member of a civic organization? IS your club having a meeting? Is it having an event? Let everyone know. Did your club do something for someone in the county? Or even for the county?

Are you frustrated at reading abbreviated reports on what our commissioners are doing? What was happening at the council meetings in your town? Could you be someone that attended a meeting, and took a digital tape recorder? Did you take good notes? Come back here and let everyone know, that day, what was said and what happened from a personal prospective.

The purpose of this site is to get the community involved, to showcase various groups and individuals, and everything going on within our county.

We need dedicated individuals to become contributors here. You do not need a degree, you do not need any sort of resume. What we want is real prospective views. No information is insignificant. This is destined to be a all in one county resource that will eventually be a homepage on many computers.

Fire Departments, announce your events, your field days, your training sessions. There is even room for a couple of dedicated columnists where you can write about whatever you want. This Is My County.  Are you ready to be a part of something that can make a difference?
