Alternative Media

There a few ideas being passed around, that could make an
appearance on ThisIsMyCounty.com

1. The independent columnist.
2. Live video broadcasts of local events and sports, to be streamed live, to ThisIsMyCounty
3. Streaming Town-Hall Forum style Radio, web based of course (As the GOV will not let us have a low power radio station)

1. The Columnist
Everyone has an opinion and their own view on events in our area, and the world. While ThisIsMyCounty’s focus is on local information, that does not mean an individual can not write about anything else. There is room for that. And we want to make use of it. We are always looking for a hard driving, opinionated individual that wants a medium to get their view point out.  This would allow a wide array of views to be displayed and commented on by the general readership.  The columnist would have the freedom to write on topics of their choice.

2. Streaming live video feeds
It is quite possible to stream live video to the website from a remote location within the county. It is the idea that events, meetings, sport outings, could be recorded and fed to the server where others would be able to witness events that they otherwise would not have been able to see.

3. Streaming Radio
It has been a dream of quite a few folks to operate a low power radio station for our county. Which would be a great medium to have, but alas it is not to be. (legally) as the corporations have already bought up all the licensing, and new ones are not forth coming. However that does not mean that the voice of people has to be stifled. The streaming media could be utilized to show case local talent, and town-hall forum style discussions.
