Thanks for the picture of the Silver Spade. My dad, Paul Rogers, helped build that monster and he later retired as operator from the Gem of Egypt. I’m very proud of my Dad. My sister, Linda Fogle, told me about this site. I no longer live in Harrison County so it is fun to see comments, photos, and activities from my ole stompin’ grounds. Really appreciate the comment, and glad you made it to here. My grandfather (Thomas Durbin) had a major hand in that hunk of metal, and my Father was one of the last crew to operate it, and not long after he passed away, they scrapped it.
