Internet Security 2010 is yet another one of those fabulous scamware\malware infestations that you can pick up online and not even know it. Find below, on how to identify if you are another victim of these scammers.
This particular software is generically the same as all the other tens of dozens of fake anti-virus programs that have gained extreme popularity amongst scammers. Initially you will a message down by your clock on bottom left hand side, that states that you have been infected and that the sky is falling, and it will suggest you scan your PC with your anti-virus client. (When it says your anti-virus client, it means that it wants you to scan with the program that just infested your machine)
Regardless if you are one of those happy clickers who will do what a message on your screen says, the program ( Internet Security 2010 ) will load on your screen and begin ” Scanning ” your system for Trojan Viruses and other badies you read about in the news, or hear your friends talk about.
Without skipping a beat, your screen will suddenly light up with evil looking red text of some pretty serious sounding viruses and threats that this miracle program has just saved you from..
The problem is..you can not rid yourself of these horrible instances of software without purchasing a full version of Internet Security 2010. Oh no. What is a keyboard surfer to do?
For starters, take a deep breath. The program Internet Security 2010 is malicious. It was designed, like all the other programs like it, into putting you into such a scared frenzy that you whip out your piece of plastic and purchase the software without thinking twice. The problem is, your machine will remain infected, your credit card or bank account will be wiped out, and you become yet another statistic in the world wide web of scams.
If you did not notice any pop up balloons on your machine, you will soon notice a message after you restart your computer. The first thing you will see after you power your computer on, is a grey windows message box, that has a message that says you are infected with the Worm.Win32.NetSky virus.
Fear not. You are not infected with the NetSky virus. You are however, infected with this annoying, scamming, malicious tool. Internet Security 2010.
While this software is similar to most, it has its differences. For starters, apart from being delivered by a malware process, it, itself contains actual Trojan viruses that will continue to download more of it’s friends every time you are online. Every day squeezing the life out of your machine, until you get to that magical breaking point, of handing over your bank account.
For the love of all that his holy, do not purchase this software, or ANY software that just suddenly appears on your computer.
Computers are designed to do what YOU tell them to do. Anytime your computer starts telling YOU what to do, you have problems.

Thanks for the warning Larry – I now know what not to do, but what should we do if we see this?
There are many sites online concerning this paticular virus\rogue software. BEWARE. The vast majority of sites that first appear in the search engines, are also Virus sites, attempting to build your trust with their apparent inside knowledge, and to attempt to coerce you into downloading even more malware.
There are also many tips regarding the remove of this software. There have now been 9 machines in this office, with this software on it. We took one, and did what the other sites recommended.
Results were lacking. The problem with this software, at least as with today’s writing of this, is a complicated and horrifying experience to remove and restore a users system they way they left it. ( This is why I keep my head shaved, else I would pull my hair out on a daily basis )
Clear your cookies from your browser daily. Avoid accepting any plugins that a site may prompt you for. ( FoxNews even had an advertisment that contained a link to malware ) So don’t rely on name brand trust alone.
If your machine is already infected with this paticular software, shut it down. Unplug it, and call my office.
The longer you let the machine run while infected and online, the worst it will get, and the greater the potential of data loss and system failure.
