it’s been a year..

As of this month, ThisIsMyCounty.com will have been online for one year.

In terms of personally tackled projects, this is one heck of an a endeavour that gets better every day. ( much like a wine, only without the wine…, or the side effects ) There are now a number of people involved in ThisIsMyCounty, and more on the horizon. What started with an average of 30 visitors in the first month, has now ballooned to almost 2,500+ on average daily.

Those are some serious numbers for a randomly updated web site. Which brings the whole purpose of it all back into view. This site was started to fill a gap where traditional media left off (at the time, as it is now apparently trendy to try and fill that gap and format. grin.)

Events

So many events go on within this county every week, and by the time you find out about it, it is almost surely to late. Nothing is better then actually having 5 minutes to yourself or family on a weekend, and reading ” Hey, they are having a steak dinner tonight to raise money for so and so because of this “.

You get to participate in three things in one shot. One, you get out of the house and immerse yourself in an environment where you will meet people you never knew existed, perhaps even making lasting friendships out the process, two, your even showing an appearance will help someone or some family or some community group that could use support, and three, you get to sample some seriously delicious food. ( If the event calls for it )

I have personally felt great satisfaction throughout the works of this website, and helping draw attention to events going on within this county. The year has been great, and the number of daily readers has grown tremendously. I look forward to more volunteer writers sharing their opinion and and more folks taking advantage of all the events taking place right here in our own communities.

That said, I desire to get to the point where thisismycounty can be used as a driving force to help our communities and those living within it’s borders.  We have only ourselves to improve our living standards.

Thank you for making this website a stopping point on your daily internet excursions, and for spreading the word about its existence. ( This means you, you facebook fans ) Last year was good. This year is going to be great.
