Zack Jones Benefit

The Harrison County 4-H Committee and the Harrison County 4-H Clubs will be participating in the national “Make a Difference Day”.

This year, they have decided to make a difference in the community by helping the Jon and Tina Jones family of rural Cadiz.  They have three children, Zack, Joelle, and Cael.  Their oldest child, Zack was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer and is currently a patient enduring 6 months of chemotherapy at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital.

Zach is 14 years old and in the 8th grade at Union Local Elementary School.  He is a member of the Tri-County Showstoppers 4-H club and a member of the Union Local Jr. High Football and wrestling teams.  However, Zack’s love is agriculture and farming.  He helps on the family farm and also with the family business, D & J Sales and Service.  Last year, Zack wrote an essay about why he was proud to be a “Child of Appalachia” and won an award for his pride and being born and raised in an Appalachian community.  He has also won many project awards during his years in 4-H, including raising and showing the Grand Champion Market Hog at the 2008 Harrison County Fair.

The youth of Harrison County are a wonderful group of young ladies and gentleman who take great pride in their county 4-H program, the community, they live in and also knowing that they can provide service to others.  We would like to ask on behalf of these youth that you help us “make a difference” with this event for the Jones family.
