Caught in The Middle

Print This Story Print This Story

When one lives in such a small rural area, you might just feel as sense of obligation to shop locally, and if you don’t, you just might feel a slight sense of guilt.  Curiosity brings this topic to light, here on TIMC.

Are you, or have you been a local shopper? Do you do most of your shopping locally, or do you drive outside the area? What are your motivating factors? Price? Service? Reputation? Can you justify driving 45 minutes to obtain an item or service that you can receive locally?

Perhaps you are one of those caught in the middle. After many conversations, one factor that came up often was this.  ” I used to go there.. But I never will again

Alot of the stories carry a similar tune.  Perhaps its because they feel they were wronged. Wronged in the way of being mislead, misquoted and  not recieving the service they had expected. It’s these things that convince them to take their business outside of the county, regardless of what they are looking for.

This brings us to the topic of this week’s poll. Did a bad experience stop you from shopping locally? Or just stop you from shopping at that specific business?
Comments are welcome, as well as your voice on the poll, located on the main page of ThisIsMyCounty.com
