  • This Simple profile of a boxer named “Lacee” that is is currently live on the website ” ” shows but a simple snap-shot of a neglected pet that had been left to it’s own devices in Cadiz, Ohio. This dog, as well as many others, have been posted to the HCP website by the Dog Warden of the Harrison County Dog Pound over the past two weeks.

If one would just base action and opinion off all the talk, and rumors that they have been hearing about the Dog Pound in Harrison County, one could easily be inclined to shut themselves off from it and reserve their opinion for the gossip that others share.

I personally could see this, and understand the attitude to an extent.. But after launching this website and seeing the animals currently located at the dog pound, go online, one by one, it is quickly apparent that there is a serious underworld to HarrCo, especially when it comes to abandoned pets.

The Harrison County Dog pound is just that. A pound. It is by no means a rescue, nor is it a shelter. A pound is usually the last resort. The final stop. The last chance. To give credit, where credit is due, the HCDP ( Harrison County Dog Pound) has been sheltering, feeding and managing these animals longer then they are legally obligated to do so.

The prime example being the dog ” Lacee ” that started this post. She has been at the Dog Pound since 8.19.2011. It is currently the 29th. For ten days this dog has been kept at the pound, even though the dog is familiar to folks around the area, and people have an idea of who she belonged to, there she sits. Waiting.

When I created HCP, I had a three step plan in place:

  • Build The Website
  • Get Local Government Participation
  • Get Community Participation

The only step left, is you.

Below the information of every animal posted, there is a
Facebook ” Like ” button. If you are one of the millions of Facebook users out there, lend a hand and “ Like ” the animals.

You may not be interested personally, but maybe one of your friends will be!

Help us spread the word about these local pets in our county.

If you enjoyed this post, please consider leaving a comment and ' liking ' it so that your friends on Facebook can see what is going on here in Harrison County Ohio.
