Press Release:

5,000 Year Leap Series Scheduled

In January of 2010, the Eastern Ohio Concerned Citizens (EOCC) hosted a six week series based on the 5,000 Year Leap, A Miracle That Changed the World (Principles of Freedom 101). The series, held at St. Teresa’s activity center in Cadiz, was well attended with people coming from as far away as Morgan,Stark and Summit counties during the cold and blustery winter months.

The book was written by W. Cleon Skousen and identifies the 28 principals of liberty that the Founding Fathers followed when drafting the U.S. Constitution. The series points out the faith that guided these men and is rich with history. During the classes you will come to realize the amount of thought and consideration that these men, from various walks of life, put into this document that has guided our country to this point.

A strong appreciation of this effort will develop over the weeks and you may find yourself wanting to study this period of time even more. The series will conclude with an additional evening for viewing the movie A More Perfect Union, America Becomes a Nation which depicts the drama of the weeks prior to the passage of the document that formed this country as we know it, the Constitution of the United States of America.

The EOCC is pleased to present this series once again. It will be held every Monday at 6:30 pm, September 12 through October 17, 2011. The location will be at the Sycamore Tree Church on 301  North 4th Street in Steubenville. The 5,000 Year Leap book will be available for purchase and refreshments will be served. There is no cost for the series; however, donations would be appreciated to help defray the cost of the facility. For more information go to http://www.eocc‐ or call 740‐624‐0543

Note: While this event is taking place outside of Harrison County, It is however, being organized by a group from Harrison County, Ohio.
