HCC: Hazel’s Apple Crisp

Hazel's Apple Crisp

This recipe was given to me by my Grandma Hazel Young. At this time of year she would make this and bring to me and my was always a very tasty treat!


  • 4 Cups Sliced Cooking Apples
  • 1 T. Lemon Juice
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 Cup Rolled Oats (Uncooked)
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar (Firmly Packed)
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/3 Cup Butter (Melted)

Cooking Directions

  1. Place sliced apples in buttered shallow baking pan.
  2. Sprinkle with the lemon juice.
  3. Combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.
  4. Add melted butter and make a crumb mixture.
  5. Sprinkle crumb mixture over apples.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
  7. Serve warm...and if you want, serve with ice cream...
