Print This Story
The Outdoors Club of the Freeport Clark Branch Library invites anyone interested to join them on Sunday October 16th for a Fall Hike along the shores of Piedmont Lake.
Come out and enjoy the fall colors and clean outdoor air before bad weather sets in. The hike will be rain or shine and will be of near four and one half miles in length.
Starting at the Piedmont Lake Marina Campground and ending at State Rout 22, hikers will travel mostly in wooded areas, up and down moderate hills, through wet areas and over small streams with great views of the lake from time to time. Everyone can walk at their own speed, hot chocolate will be served at the Roadside Park at the end and the fast hikers will have refreshments ready for those a bit slower!
Dress for the weather and wear proper shoes and long pants. Those interested should meet at the Piedmont Lake Roadside Rest along State Route 22 at 1:30 PM to leave for the campground no later than 1:45PM.
If any questions, please contact Pat Spain at the Freeport Branch Library at 740.658.3855, Pam Singhaus at Puskarich Library at 740.942.2623 or Ray Ferrell at 942-3475.
