Thunder on The Hill

Thunder on The Hill (TOTH) had their third and final rally of the season this past Saturday, October 15, 2011.  The weather even cooperated and the riders had beautiful sun and perfect temperatures.  As one rider said, “The track was perfect!!!”

The trail begins just off of Foxes Bottom Road in Short Creek Township and is well suited  for ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes.  “The trail meanders along a scenic route with creek crossings, steep inclines and a mud track for those who like to get down and dirty,” co-owner Joe Greco said.  “But there are well-marked detours with easier paths for inexperienced riders.”

TOTH offers free camping the night before and after all scheduled events and even provides a DJ on Friday nights.

Each event grows bigger and draws more riders from near and far.  “We don’t require stickers or spark arrestors on the vehicles because this is private land,” Greco said.  Participants receive raffle tickets that are good for prizes, and the owners sell hats and T-shirts.  “We have many local and national sponsors.  Some sponsors set up a booth at the event to sell their products,” co-owner Chuck Mikol said.

At the midway point on the trail there is a rest area with the Pit Stop concession stand, sponsored by the Cadiz American Legion Junior Auxiliary, because the ride can take 2-4 hours, depending on the mud and detours, from start to finish.

The 2012 scheduled has been finalized and has four dates this time.  May 19, July 28, August 25, and October 13.  For more information about next years events, call (216) 926-4206.
