From Awareness to action: Preventing Rx Abuse in your community

Teen prescription drug abuse is more than an emerging problem. One in five teens abuse Rx medications each year. Next to marijuana, prescription medicines are the most common illegal drugs teens abuse. Every day, almost 2,500 teens abuse these drugs for the first time.

Think about your home. What prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs do you have? Where are they kept? Would you know if some were missing? The good news is that you can take steps immediately to limit access to these drugs and help keep your teen drug free. Be part of the solution. Lock up your meds, keep track of your medicines, and properly dispose of them when they are no longer needed. To learn more join Joseph Maiorano, MS.
