Christmas In The Park

Print This Story Print This Story

On December 3rd Bowerston had their 7th Annual Christmas in the Park.  The Bowerston Volunteer Fire Department escorted Santa through town to the park building on one of their firetrucks so Santa could visit with all the children and hand out candy provided by the Bowerston VFD.

The building was filled with kids and parents waiting their turn to sit on Santa’s lap and get Christmas temporary tattoos applied.  Everyone enjoyed cookies, hot cocoa, and punch that was provided by the Woman’s Club.

At 2:00 the ladies of the Woman’s Club had the hardest job of the day (next to the reindeer getting Santa to his next event on time).  The ladies had to judge the coloring contest.  After much discussion and deliberation winners were finally chosen.  In the Preschool thru Second grade group, Evan Siedel and Daphne Stuber won.  In the Third and Fourth grade group, Emily Sidel and Samantha Myer won.  And in the Fifth and Sixth grade group, Kelci Manbeck and Jennifer Sizemore won.  All winners were presented WalMart gift cards.

As Santa left for his next event, he proclaimed what a wonderful time he had with so many “Nice” children.  If all the towns and communities have as many “Nice” kids as Bowerston, Santa is sure going to have an even busier night than usual on the 24th.
