Lil Hustlers Help Stuff the Bus

Print This Story Print This Story

Allen Carter of the Harrison County Lil Hustlers attended the Harrison County American Legion County Council meeting on December 6th to make a presentation.  The Lil Hustlers gave the three Legions of the County $300 and 30 boxes of toys for the Annual Stuff the Bus program put on by the Legions.

The Lil Hustlers is a lawn mower tractor club based in Harrison County with approximately 110 members that pull either Stock or Modified lawn tractors.  Weather permitting, they meet between May and November twice a month at the Harrison County Fairgrounds.  Each tractor pull averages 60-70 tractors pulling during the day.  They have pullers from not only Harrison County but as far away as Pennsylvania and Coshocton, Ohio.  Participants pay to pull each time they go down the track, Lil Hustlers then uses a percentage of each pull to donate to, what they feel, are worthy causes that can use all the help they can get.  This past fall they were able to donate $400 to the St. Jude’s Hospital in Cleveland, as well.

When the members of the club heard they would also be making a monetary donation to Stuff the Bus this year, they stepped up and donated individual toys that they purchased themselves.  Thirty boxes of toys were donated!!

The Legions greatly appreciate all that the Lil Hustlers have done to help make the Stuff the Bus program a huge success once again this year, but not as much as all the children of Harrison County appreciate it, because without the Stuff the Bus program they wouldn’t be having Christmas at all.
