Peanut Brittle

Another wonderful recipe for the holidays...make some and give as a Christmas present...!


  • 3 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Cups Karo Syrup
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 6 T. Butter
  • 1 Pound Raw Peanuts
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Soda
  • 1 tsp. Water
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

Cooking Directions

  1. Bring sugar, syrup and water to a boil until you have a soft ball (240 degrees on candy thermometer); add nuts and butter, cook to a hard crack (300 degrees on candy thermometer).
  2. Last add soda, and 1 tsp. water and vanilla. Stir till mixed.
  3. Spread on warm greased pan.
  4. Let cool and break into pieces.
