Varner’s Automotive Repair

Print This Story Print This Story

Family owned and operated full service gas stations are a thing of the past…Or are they?  Not in Cadiz!  Chuck Varner, owner/operator of Varner’s Automotive Repair keeps the tradition of the “old fashioned” service station alive and it seems to be working VERY well for him.

Chuck’s wife and daughter answer the constantly ringing phone throughout the day while Chuck and his twin boys Brian and Brandon pump gas, wash windshields, check oil and tire pressure, and work in the bays doing repairs on vehicles constantly coming in.  On more than one occasion have I pulled up and asked if I had a low tire and they checked all four tires and put air in them for me.

Not only do they offer the standard full service gas station, they also do oil changes, replace brakes, cooling systems repair and many other vehicle repairs.  Varner’s are even offering tires that can be mounted and balanced as well.

As you drive through Cadiz and see the price of gas nowadays, Varner’s full service is usually the same as big corporation self serve stations.  Chuck is just continuing the tradition his grandfather started in the 1940’s when he opened his radiator repair shop in Weirton and ran until the close of the steel mills forced him to close his shop.

Varner’s Service Station is open Monday-Saturday 6am-9pm and is closed on Sunday.  They are located at 301 East Market Street in Cadiz.  For more information or questions they can be reached at (740)942-1407.  Chuck also says if you mention this article, he will give you a 10% discount on all mechanic services.  Please stop and see the Varner family so we can keep the family owned operated businesses in our community.
