Beginning Beekeeping Course

Everything You Need to Know to Begin Keeping Bees!

  • Registration includes classroom sessions, a beekeeping manual, and a hands-on field day session at a Harrison County Bee Yard in April and opportunities for ongoing support and mentoring.
  • Lead instructor is Mr. Bob Hooker, beekeeper, president of the Harrison County Beekeepers Association and past president of the Ohio State Beekeeping Association.
  • Registration is $50.00 per person and $25.00 for each additional person from the same family/household.
  • Topics to be covered include: benefits of keeping bees, equipment and supplies needed, honeybee biology, live management, finding and purchasing supplies, bee problems and solutions, hands-on training to manage bees and more.
