Addendum for a Fallen Trooper

Print This Story Print This Story

I read with great interest the article written by Amy Gareis of the Harrison News Herald, titled ” Officials seek to rename route for fallen trooper ” that was published this past weekend.  Being the history buff that I am, I had to know just a bit more to satisfy my curiosity.  I had originally intended to contact the Harrison County Historical Society, but being impatient, I turned to the next best thing. Google.

The story of what transpired was found via the 1930’s Ohio State Patrol web archives. The length of the information is a bit much for one page, so it is broken up for your convenience.

Update: 4.10.2012 10:38 PM. Just got off the phone with Dr. Scott Pendleton, who informed me that the Harrison County Historical Society has a vast library of information regarding this event. I highly suggest to anyone wishing to learn more about what transpired to contact the Historical Society.  The conversation that I had, made me realize that the information that I was able to obtain pales in drastic comparison to the facts that our local organisation has. Thank you for the information Doc! – Larry
