E-Rate applications to save district nearly $148K
District Technology Coordinator Keith Eddy said a series of upgrades and modifications through E-Rate, a federal technical assistance program. Savings through the program should benefit Harrison Hills to the tune of $147,951.07 by 2013. Eddy said E-Rate is based on needs assistance and follows free and reduced lunch programs to calculate discounts, which this year will be 77 percent since the district has the same amount utilizing those food programs. He added that the district has also completed fiber optic connections for even further cost reductions.
